Peter Millonig is a Partner and Senior Industry Advisor with CDI Global North America in the Chicago office.

With over 30 years of senior management and advisory experience, Peter has held leadership roles in both publicly traded and privately owned companies across Central and Southeast Europe, specializing in the paper packaging and metal converting industries. His career spans positions from General Manager, Head of Region to Divisional Manager.

As an external consultant to the Business Unit Chair of MONDI Corrugated Packaging in Vienna, Austria, he managed a comprehensive cross-European product portfolio rebranding project and also served as a trusted advisor to the CEO in regional corporate acquisitions. He was retained by Constantia Industries, Austria, to lead the post-merger integration of Ranheim Paper & Board—the largest Scandinavian producer of solid board and recycled kraftliner (saturating base paper), located in Trondheim, Norway.

Peter’s expertise lies in formulating and implementing robust corporate strategies, overseeing multi-site operations, and in generating fast-paced revenue growth to secure sustained ROI figures. Additionally, his acumen for cross-border cultural integration has enabled seamless collaboration in multinational environments.

In the United States, Peter worked as a supplier of strategic raw materials for European paper mills and managed international projects in areas such as hydropower development, continuous casting, and government procurement.  He holds a Juris Doctor degree from the School of Law in Vienna, Austria, and an Executive MBA from the Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland.  Full language proficiency in English, German, Slovenian, and Croatian.
